PTFA (Parents, Teachers and Friends Association)
Why join our PTFA?
Support the school
The PTFA is vital to the success of Julian’s. Be part of the group that pays for the playground your child loves or funds extra art supplies that spark imaginations.
It’s totally flexible
Whether you’re a full-time parent or working the nine to five, anyone can get involved. It’s less commitment than you think. Small jobs such as organising uniforms, promoting events or clearing coffee cups keep everything running smoothly.
Make friendships
Meet and chat to a wider circle of families from different classes and year groups. Get to know other parents, and bond over events, socials and get-togethers.
Be better connected
Create closer links with the teachers and staff. If you’re new to the school, the PTFA is an excellent way to find out how things work.
Change school for the better
Have a say on important decisions. Work with the school and other parents to see where improvements can be made and help implement them. Directly influence the experienceof your child and hundreds of others.
Impact your child’s learning
Studies show that children whose parents and carers are involved in their education do better in school and our PTFA benefits equally from active parents/carers.
Everyone is welcome
It’s important to have mums, dads and carers represented. We all bring different skills and different perspectives.
Create lasting memories
Our children are only at school for a few years, but they will remember the difference we make for a lifetime. They will cherish the activities we fund, learn using resources we buy,and remember the events we put on. Help keep the PTFA going so future students can benefit too.

What is the PTFA?
Julian's Primary PTFA is a social group of parents and carers who fundraise for school resources and activities. We work closely with the school to benefit the pupils. Every parent, carer and staff member is automatically a member and we encourage everyone to get involved.
The group is run by an elected executive comprising volunteer parents, carers and staff and they hold regular meetings and coffee mornings at both sites. It updates the whole school community through their fortnightly newsletter and via a team of dedicated Class Reps. The group has charitable status and its primary aim is to raise valuable funds for the school. Everyone is welcome to contribute ideas, time, energy and enthusiasm!
What has the PTFA provided in recent years?
- Welcome packs for all new families in Reception
- Year 6 end-of-year event, yearbook and t-shirts
- School values mosaics
- IT equipment including laptops and cameras
- Funds towards the gardening project
- Theatre visits for the children
- Football Kit, entry to the league and coaching for the mixed football team
- Playground markings to support learning
How do we raise money?
Regular events have been school discos, cake sales, winter and summer fairs & raffles and social events for adults, for example the infamous quiz night!
How can you help?
Help at a disco; make or sell cakes; run a stall at one of the fairs; help with our Facebook page; donate gifts for raffles; ask your business to sponsor an event; ask your company to match funds raised; design or print posters; bring fresh ideas....
Everyone can help raise funds when shopping online. When you shop online, please consider signing up to Easyfundraising to support Julian's Primary School PTFA.
It’s a really easy way to raise money for the school – you just use the easyfundraising site to shop online with more than 3,300 well known online stores like Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com, eBay, Boden, and M&S and when you make a purchase, the retailer sends the PTFA a donation, at no extra cost to you.
We want to raise as much as possible, so please visit our new easyfundraising page at
https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/juliansptfa/ and click ‘support this cause’.
How do I get involved?
The Julian's PTFA reflects the warm, friendly and inclusive ethos of the school and we hope that you will be actively involved. Either come to a meeting, email us at juliansptfa@googlemail.com and ‘like’ us on facebook
http://www.facebook.com/JuliansPrimarySchoolPTFA.
We are also looking to recruit Class Reps so that we have 1 or 2 contacts per class so that we can share news with all parents and garner support for events. We also have several positions open on the Committee.
Please email Olivia Foxon on ofoxon@juliansprimary.org.uk if you are interested in being a Class Rep or getting involved in the Committee.
