• Refugee Week / Day of Welcome

  Following the success of last year's celebration of 'Refugee Week', our whole school will be involved in learning more about the experiences of sanctuary seeking members of our community with a range of new opportunities.

   

  Each class from Years 1 to 6 will receive new books and will attend online webinars to learn about authors from sanctuary seeking backgrounds. They will learn about the different
  language choices that we can make, to help all individuals feel welcomed in our school community.

   

  On Friday 14th June, we have invited children to wear clothes that represent their 'home' at school. This could be traditional clothing to celebrate our family traditions, clothes
  we wear at home to be comfortable or clothes that make us feel proud! Families have
  the opportunity to provide a voluntary donation to fundraise on the day for 'Schools of Sanctuary'- a unique organisation that helps schools to develop and foster a welcoming community for sanctuary seeking families.

   

  For Refugee Week (17th-23rd June), we will be providing families with a postcard to
  display in our wider community- this could be in our windows at home, or provided to a local business or shop, to help spread the message of support further outside of our
  school gates.

• Julian's Summer Fair - Saturday 17th June!

  This Saturday, our wonderful PTFA have organised our annual Summer Fair! Come and join us for a fantastic day out. Fun for the whole family! 12-3pm Streatham School Grounds, 226 Leigham Court Road, SW16 2RB.

  

• Day of Welcome - Friday 16th June

  On 16th June, we will be celebrating Day of Welcome as part of Refugee Week. It is a non-uniform day and we would like to invite your child to wear an orange item in solidarity with ‘Together with Refugees’ and bring a £1 donation. This will be used to fund a Cultural Evening that will take place in autumn 2023. The theme for Refugee Week this year is ‘Compassion’ and we will be discussing the impact of this across all year groups in addition to other activities. Lambeth is a Borough of Sanctuary and at Julian’s we are working towards our School of Sanctuary accreditation. More on this soon!

   

  

• Dress Down and Donate Sweets and Treats Tomorrow!

  Friday 9th June is Dress Down and Donate day! Our PTFA have organised a non-uniform day and have requested donations for the Sweet Tombola for our Summer Fair on Saturday 17th June. 

• Open Reading Morning followed by PTFA Coffee Morning, Friday 9th June

  We look forward to welcoming parents and carers tomorrow for our monthly open reading morning followed by PTFA coffee morning on both sites. We will also have a uniform sale at WN. See you there! 

  

• SATS Week Breakfast Club

  Polly and Kerry will be hosting Year 6 Breakfast Club during SATs week, Tuesday 9th - Friday 12th May at 8:15am on both sites. All Year 6 children are invited to join us for a nutritious and hearty breakfast ahead of their exams.
