School Meals

School Meals

Lunch Arrangements

At Julian’s we encourage and promote healthy eating.
Hot meals are provided every day by our catering company ISS. In compliance with the food standards required by schools, children are offered three choices daily. The kitchen staff provide a good variety of food for the children each lunchtime including salads and vegetarian meals. If your child has any special dietary requirements, please let us know. We are a nut-free school.
We encourage children to eat our school lunches. They are healthy, nutritious and good value for money at £2.35 per day.

School meals must be paid for in advance through ParentPay

Packed Lunch

Pupils may bring a packed lunch, but we request that they are well balanced. No fizzy drinks, crisps, sweets, chocolate or products containing any nuts are allowed.
In exceptional circumstances it may be that a child would have lunch at home. Please contact the Headteacher should you wish to discuss this further.

Universal Free School Meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 are entitled to a free school meal each day.

We do ask that parents/carers advise us of their full name, NI number and date of birth so that we can verify free meal eligibility. This would normally apply if you are entitled to and receiving:

Income Support; Income-based Jobseekers Allowance; Income-related Employment and Support Allowance; Child Tax Credit, but not Working Tax Credit; Support under Part IV of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 and/or Guarantee element of State Pension Credit. Evidence will be required to process your entitlement.

Fruit

All Foundation and Key Stage 1 children are given a piece of fruit as part of the government’s fruit scheme for schools. Children in Key Stage 2 may bring in a fruit snack to eat at play times.
Children are not allowed to bring sweets, crisps or chocolate to school.

Water

Water fountains are available for the children in the school playground. All children are encouraged to bring their own bottles of water to school. Water is always available at lunchtime.
