Welcome to 6EN!
We hope you have had a lovely Christmas breal and are ready for the new year! Our Creative Curriculum topic this term will be Culture and Identity. It's been so great to see the the family trees constructed by the children. This term children will explore Culture and Identity from a variety of perspectives.
In English we will be reading The Rabbits. This is an engaging narrative that will provide a different perspective to colonisation in Australia. We will also be looking at information and instructional texts as well as poetry throughout the term.
In Maths this term we will be focusing on place value, addition, sutbraction, multiplication and division. We will also be working on skills to help improve mathematical fluency (e.g. number bonds including decimals). Children will have Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFs) to practice each half term.
Art, Science and RE will be taught every week.
Children will have Guided Reading and Handwriting lessons daily.
Music Trax will be taught every Thursday.
Steel Pans will be taught every Friday
Drama with Ellie will be taught every Tuesday.
Homework will be sent home every Friday. This will need to be returned by the following Wednesday at the latest so that it can be marked.
