Year 4 Homework
Friday 28th June 2019
This week in maths we have been learning all about geometry (shapes, angles, symmetry and translations). For homework we would like you to complete the ‘Compare and classify 2D shapes’ challenge attached.
This week you have been assigned various times tables quizzes and arithmetic tests. We encourage you all to complete these online activities as part of your homework.
Over the next few weeks we are taking part in ‘World of Work’ and ‘Global dimensions’. For your writing challenge this week we would like you to collect information about the different types of jobs that people within your family do. Some possible questions to ask could be:
What is your job role/ title?
Where do you work?
What do you have to do?
What training did you need in order to get your job?
What do you enjoy about your job? Why?
How did school help you to prepare for the working world?
Try and interview as many adults in your family as possible!
Use the look, cover, write, check method to practise spelling the following world of work vocabulary:
career, business, work, position, duty, function, position, service, trade, profession
Please try to read at least 10 minutes every day.
Thank you for your continued support,
Sam, Nancy, Nicola, Stephanie, Jason and Lucie
Over the next few weeks the children will be designing, creating and evaluating several structures as part of their learning about being engineers.
We need a variety of recycled materials such as:
newspapers, cans, bottles, plastic, cardboard, straws, disposable plastic cups, pipe cleaners etc.
