Welcome to 4SS
We hope you have had a summer to remember and looking forward to the year ahead! Our Creative Curriculum topic this term is ‘The Tudors’. The summer project work already looks fantastic and it’s been amazing to see all the hard work and research that has gone into them. To further our understanding of the Tudors we will also be going on exciting trips to the Golden Hinde in London and Hampton Court Palace.
Our focus in maths this term will be on place value, addition and subtraction. In addition to this, children will also be working on their Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFs) as part of our maths lessons. In English, we will be reading a book called Tudor Tales: The Thief, the Fool and the Big Fat King.
Art, Science and RE will be taught every week.
Children will have Guided Reading and Handwriting lessons daily.
Music Trax will be taught every Thursday.
Steel Pans will be taught every Friday
Homework will be sent home every Friday. This will need to be returned by the following Wednesday at the latest so that it can be marked.
PE is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Children must wear the full Julian's PE kit and black plimsoles.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask or send me an email.
