Welcome to 2E!
Our topic this term is Islands. Children will explore a variety of islands, thinking about their georgraphy and how they are similar and different from one another.
In English we have been learning about what makes a good non-fiction text. We created our own information books on British coastal animals. Over the next few weeks we will be learning all about instruction writing and will write our own instructions to design and build a lighthouse.
In Maths this term we will be focusing on multiplication and division. We will also be working on skills to help improve mathematical fluency (e.g. 2, 3, 5 & 10 x table, number bonds). Children will have Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFs) to practice each half term.
Art, Science and RE will be taught every week.
Children will have Guided Reading, Phonics and Handwriting lessons daily.
Music will be taught every Tuesday.
Homework will be sent home every Friday. This will need to be returned by the following Wednesday at the latest so that it can be marked.
PE is on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Children must wear the full Julian's PE kit and black plimsoles.
