Welcome to 6J!
Welcome to the new school year. We hope you all had a lovely summer break! It is wonderful to see the children back in school ready to make the most out of their final year at Julian’s Primary School.
Our first Creative Curriculum question is What’s out there? This will have a heavy focus on science as children will have the opportunity to work scientifically, plan different types of experiments and find out about the universe around us. They will be studying the movement of the Earth creates day and night and affects the seasons. The topic will also look at the properties of light sources, reflections and shadows.
Alongside our scientific investigations, we shall be reading Cosmic by Frank Cottrell Boyce. The children will be able to respond to their reading by writing their own narrative and newspaper about Liam’s adventure.
Next week, starting 10th September, we will be travelling to PGL Liddington where children will get the opportunity to work as a team, challenge themselves with new experiences and create some treasured memories.
We have PE on a Wednesday afternoon - please ensure the children have suitable PE kits.
Homework is handed out every Friday and expected back by the following Wednesday. Please encourage your child to read daily and practice their KIRFs. Thank you for all your support!
Watch out for the Newsletter next week, which will provide more information about the upcoming term.
We are all looking forward to a great year, working with your children to help them reach their full potential.
