Our Creative Curriculum topic this term will be Culture and Identity. It's been so great to see the the thoughtful and well researched projects that were completed by the children during the holidays. This term, children will explore their culture and identity from a variety of perspectives.
In English we will be reading Rabbits by John Marsden and Shaun Tan.This book is explores the colonisation of Australia from the beginning of the 19th Century. Children willleaarn about the history, art, new laws and 'The Lost Generation'
In Maths this term we will be focusing on place value, addition, sutbraction, multiplication and division. We will also be working on skills to help improve mathematical fluency (e.g. number bonds including decimals). Children will have Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFs) to practice each half term.
Art, Science and RE will be taught every week.
Children will have Guided Reading and Handwriting lessons daily.
Music Trax will be taught every Wednesday
Steel Pans will be taught every Monday
Drama with Ellie will be taught every Tuesday.
Homework will be sent home every Friday. This will need to be returned by the following Wednesday at the latest so that it can be marked.
PE is on Mondays and Wednesday. Children must wear the full Julian's PE kit and black footwear.
