Welcome to 1EV
Welcome back to the new school year and I hope you all had a lovely summer break! It is great to see the children back in school and we are enjoying sharing our summer news. The children are quickly settling into Year 1 and are easing into the routines of the school day.
Our Creative Context enquiry question is Why Do We Play With Different Toys As We Grow Older? This has a history focus. In the coming weeks we will start reading a story called ‘Lost in the Toy Museum' which links with our upcoming visit to the Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood.
Our first P.E. lesson will be on a Monday morning. To give the children more time for their PE lessons they can come in dressed in the PE kits with their uniform in their bags to change into after. Our second PE lesson is on a Thursday afternoon so the children will go home in their PE kits. Children will have Music lessons on a Wednesday.
Homework will go out on a Friday and needs to be handed in by the following Wednesday.
Children will be sent home guided reading books to read. Please read regulary with your child and ensure books are returned to the school so they can take home new ones. Reading and book changing days will be allocated next week.
